Poly propylene glycol is an organic polymer with the molecular formula H (C3H6O) nOH and a molecular weight of 400-2000. It is a colorless to light yellow viscous liquid that is non-volatile and non corrosive. Lower molecular weight polymers are soluble in water, while higher molecular weight polymers are only slightly soluble in water and soluble in oils, many hydrocarbons, as well as fatty alcohols, ketones, esters, etc. PPG-200 can be used as a dispersant for pigments. PPG400~2000 is used as an moisturizer, softener, and lubricant in cosmetics. Used as an anti foaming agent in coatings and hydraulic oils, anti foaming agent in synthetic rubber and latex processing, refrigerant and coolant for heat transfer fluids, and viscosity improver. Used as an intermediate in esterification, etherification, and condensation reactions. Used as a release agent, solubilizer, additive for synthetic oils, additive for water-soluble cutting fluids, roller oils, hydraulic oils, high-temperature lubricants, internal and external lubricants for rubber.
